The event was organized in partnership with Forest Economic Advisors (Wood Markets), a reputable international company of analysts from Vancouver (Canada).
Ilim Timber presented its views on the development of lumber exports from Russia to the Chinese market and took part in negotiations on the supply of lumber from Siberia to central China on the eve of setting up a new industrial woodworking cluster.
Chongqing is a major city in the central part of China. It is one of four municipalities directly subordinated to China’s central government. In 2009, the population of the overall municipality numbered 32.75 million people, the majority living outside the urbanized area. There are more than 5,000 woodworking and furniture manufacturers in the region. The Great Silk Road international infrastructure project envisions the development of wood processing facilities in Chongqing with the material imported from Russia by rail.
